11/11/11: Women Soccer finished off their
season against Mission College and cruised by them winning with a
score of 10-0.
11/8/2011: Women Soccer hosted Skyline
College in a tough conference game. Skyline is the third most
scoring team in the north and Chabot Gladiators held them in a
shutout tie 0-0 to take a point from a very good team.
10/28/2011: Women Soccer traveled to CCSF
for a divisional game. This was a tough game for the Gladiators as
some of the starters were not available to play, despite previous
result. Chabot strategy was to defend and only defend, due to
unavailable starters and ended up with the same result as previous
game losing 7-0.
10/21/2011: Women Soccer traveled to Las
Positas college for a inter district rival game. The game was
equally matched for the first half as both teams fought hard. The
Hawks scored 2 goals in the first half, but the Gladiators cut the
lead in half just before the half 2-1. Second half, Chabot had some
opportunities, but did not capitalized. On the other hand, Las
Positas took advantage of their opportunities and managed to score 2
more goals in the second half to win the game 4-1. Top performers
for Chabot were Deandre Britton scoring the only goal.
10/18/2011: Women Soccer hosted Cabrillo
College. The game was intense as the Gladiators fought hard, but the
Seahawks were just a bit better and eventually beat Chabot 3-1. Top
performers were Deandre Britton scoring the only goal asissted by
Julia Ceniceros.
10/14/2011: Women Soccer traveled to
Monterey Penisnula College for a conference match. Firts half was a
deadlock as both teams try to find opportunities to score, but were
unsuccessful. Second half was similar for the first 20 minutes until
our center denfender went down with a minor injury, Monterey scored
2 quick goals to take the lead. Chabot kept fighting and managed to
cut the lead in half 2-1, but Monterey found the net again giving
the the win 3-1. Top performers were Deandre Britton scoring 1 goal.
Goal keeper Karen Escobar had 3 goals against and 15 saves. women
are currently 25 in the north.
10/11/2011: Women Soccer hosted Hartnell
College for a conference cross over match. The Gladistors started
off on the good foot as they take the lead early 2-0. Hartnell cut
the lead in half just before the half 2-1. Chabot played well, but
did not managed to score for the rest of the game. This provided
Hartnell opportnuities to score and managed to find the back of the
net 3 more times to take the lead and the win 4-2 over Chabot. Top
performer was Deandre Britton scoring 2 goals.
10/7/2011: Women Soccer traveled to
Mission College and dominated the game. The Gladiator offense was on
a roll as the tally 10 goals against the Saints. Top performers were
Erika De La Torre scored 3 goals. Brenda Hernandez scored 2 goals.
Rasheeda Salaam, Deandre Britton, Christina Kezar, Carolina Roman,
and Iliana Fonseca each scored 1 goal.
10/4/2011: Women Soccer visited Skyline
College in San Bruno. Skyline started the game in a faster pace than
Chabot as they took the lead early and never looked back. Chabot had
some opportunities to score, but fell short. Chabot lost the game
with a score of 0-4.
9/30/2011: Women Soccer hosted Canada
College, the Gladiators came out flat, but managed to score a goal
in the first half. After some wise words from the coach, the
Gladiator offense awoke and the ball was rolling, getting switched
from one side to another, cutting through the defense, shots were
taken, and 3 goals were scored in the second half to give the
Gladiators the win 4-0. Top performers were Amanda Murrillo scored 2
goals. Deandre Britton scored a goal and an assist. Christina Kezar
scored a goal.
9/27/2011: Women Soccer traveled to Ohlone
College for a tough match. The Gladiators were determined to win
this game, but were caught sleeping as Ohlone scored 2 goals in the
first half from long range. Chabot answered back as Deandre Britton
managed to out hustle the defender as she steals the ball and speed
dribbles past the defense to score a goal in the first half. Second
half Chabot played a better match, but a few defensive errors cost
them 2 goals for the loss 4-1.
9/16/2011: Women Soccer hosted Sister
school Las Positas for a inter-district rivalry game. The game was
equally matched, but Las Positas managed to score 2 goals on goalie
errors to win the game.
9/13/2011: Women soccer traveled to Los
Medanos College in Pittsburg for a tough match. It was a hot day and
both teams struggled to create scoring opportunities in the first
half. Second half was a different game as the Gladiators figured
something out and started spreading the field to open the game more,
which took a toll on LMC. With this new strategy, the Gladiators
managed to find the back of the net twice by way of Aurora Sanchez
assisting Deandre Britton's goal and Deandre Britton assisting on a
cross and a header by Amanda Murrillo to go up 2-0 for the final.
9/9/2011: Women Soccer hosted Feather
River College for a non conference game. The game was a battle as
both teams tried to expose each others weaknesses. Chabot dominated
the first half with ball possession. Second half was an even match
until Chabot at about 35 minutes into the second half Deandre
Britton manages to send a cross ball from right to left to find
Julia Ceniceros who puts the ball in the back of the net to give
Chabot the lead and the win 1-0.
9/7/2011: Women Soccer traveled to Modesto
College for a non conference game. It was a tough match and the hot
weather played a major role, which gave an advantage to modesto as
they cruised by Chabot 6-1. Top performers were Deandre Britton
scoring the only goal. Goal keeper Karen Escobar had 10 saves.
8/31/2011: Women Soccer opened their
season against Mendocino College. After a disappointing season last
year, New Coach Markus Bathelt has a new vision for Chabot women
soccer. First obstacle is to win the first game of the season.
Returning player come into this game with optimism and drive. The
Gladiators started the game a bit flat, but found their groove and
started to do work on the field. Chabot found a way to put the ball
in the back of the net just before the half 1-0. The second half was
a battle, but Chabot showed dominance and scored another goal late
in the second half to give themselves a comfort level. In the end
Chabot beats Mendocino 2-0. Top performer were Captain Amanda
Murrillo with 1 goal scored and an assist. Deandre Britton scored 1
goal. Goal Keeper Karen Escobar had 2 saves.
2010
11/12/2010: Women Soccer traveled to
Ohlone College for their last game of the season. Chabot played very
well with exception of one mistake from the goal keeper that cost
Chabot to concede the first goal. Chabot was not going down with out
a fight. In the end, Chabot loses to Ohlone 2-0. Overall record for
Chabot was 2-16-1
11/9/2010: Women soccer visited CCSF for a
divisional game. The Lady Gladiators were determined not to have the
same result from last games 4-0 loss. There were many chances for
the Gladiators to put the ball in the back of the net, but accuracy
was missing. CCSF on the other was able to find the back of the net
2 times through out the game giving them the win 2-0.
10/29/2010: Women Soccer hosted Las
Positas in a conference game and lost 5-0.
10/26/2010: Women Soccer traveled to
Canada for a divisional game. The lady Gladiators played with
intensity, but homefield advantage worked against them losing to
Canada 5-0.
10/15/2010: Women Soccer traveled to Foothill
College. Chabot played well, but defensive errors cost them the win.
Foothill scored 3 goals and Chabot none.
10/12/2010: Women Soccer traveled to De
Anza College for a conference game. The Gladiators fought hard as
they managed to score the first goal, but De Anza answered back with
the end result of 5-1 in favor of De Anza. Chabot scorer was Erika
De La Torre.
10/1/2010: Women soccer traveled to
Skyline College for a divisional game. The weather was cold, windy,
and foggy; giving Skyline an advantage. The Lady Gladiators fall to
a score of 3-0.
9/28/2010: Women Soccer Traveled to Los
Medanos College for a non Conference game. The Lady Gladiators
fought hard as they held the home team at down 1-0. Second half was
harder on the women because of the heat and gave up 3 more goals to
lose by a score of 4-0.

Women Soccer #16 traveled to #1 Solano College for the
first round playoff game. The lady Gladiators fought hard as
the underdog, but Solano showed Chabot why they are # 1 in
the Nor Cal beating them 5-0.
Despite the short post season, We would like to
CONGRATULATE the Women Soccer Program for a successful
season.

Women Soccer traveled to Foothill College for a chance to
give Foothill their first defeat in conference. The lady
Gladiators fought hard, but came up short as Foothill wins
2-0.

Women Soccer hosted Evergreen Valley College (EVC) for a
must win to better their chances for playoffs. The Chabot
squad showed energy, drive, and hunger for that win. The
game started off back and forth as both teams battled toe to
toe and the lady Gladiators found a way to penetrate EVC's
Defense scoring first, second, third, and fourth. Chabot
comes out victorious with a score of 4-0. Hannah Shaffer
scored 2 goals. Both Andrea Sanchez and Jessica Panuco had 1
goal.

Women Soccer traveled to Mission College
for a conference match and to increase their chances for
playoff competition. The lady Gladiators came out with no
mercy and easily dominated the lady Saints. Chabot scored 13
goals while shutting out Mission giving Chabot a 4 game win
streak. Veronica Alarcon scored 4 goals, Norma Sanchez added
a hat trick with 3 goals, Andrea Sanchez scored 2 goals, and
four other players each scored a goal.
FYI Women Soccer are in the hunt for a
playoff position with only two games left in the season.
They find themselves 19th in the north (only top 16 in north
qualify for playoffs) with two tough opponents to beat.

Double header soccer matches, in which the Women soccer
hosted Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) in hopes of bouncing
back after a tough loss this week. The lady Gladiators came
out hungry and determined to take it to MPC. The offense was
on key scoring 5 goals and the defense was solid shutting
out MPC's offense. Chabot wins the match 5-0. Norma Sanchez
and Hannah Shaffer both scored 2 goals. Itzia Rodriguez also
tallied 1 goal.

Women Soccer hosted undefeated Skyline College in a
conference match. The Lady Gladiators started off dominating
the game with 80 percent of ball control in the first half,
but failed to score. Skyline's only opportunity at goal came
from a free kick just outside the penalty box and was
capitalized with a goal leaving the first half in favor of
Skyline. Second Half the lady Gladiators picked it up a
notch and managed to score 2 goals to take the lead 2-1, but
Skyline kept pressuring Chabot and made a comeback to score
2 goals to take the lead and win the game 3-2. Veronica
Alarcon and Itzia Rodriguez both had one goal a piece.

divisional game and a chance to jump up in the standings.
Chabot dominated the entire first with at least 80 percent
of ball control. The lady Gladiators had trouble finishing
and executing in the first, which led to a goal in favor of
Foothill off a free kick outside the box. The ladies fought
hard, but could not score losing 3-0.

Women soccer traveled to Evergreen Valley
College in a tough division game, in which the lady
Gladiators found themselves stuck in the corner with no way
out. With 8 minutes to go in the game Assistant Coach Luis
Montanez tweaked the formation into a more attacking front
and Chabot managed to find the back of the net to tie the
game. Erica Garcia was the lone scorer and goal keeper Karen
Escobar had 1 goal against and 4 saves.

Soccer traveled to Los Medanos College in a non conference
game. The game was evenly matched as both teams played great
defense and offense was a bit stale. LMC however managed to
find the back of Chabot's nets to take the lead 1-0 in the
first half. The second half, the lady Gladiators battled
back to score two goals to go ahead 2-1. LMC continued to
pressure Chabot defense to find an opportunity to score. LMC
found a seam in the defense, in which a defender had no
choice, but risk an aggressive tackle inside the penalty
box. The defender was given a red card and a penalty awarded
to LMC to tie the game. Chabot was a player down for the
last 15 minutes of the game, but could not hold the tie as
LMC found the back of the net for the third time beating
Chabot 3-2. |

Gladiators faced off against Yuba College and found
themselves losing 4-0 at half. Chabot continued to fight
until the last whistle was blown and managed to score 4

Rodriguez with two (assisted by Jessica Panuco, Jackie

Lady Gladiators are sitting on the 22nd spot in the region and
3rd in conference. Natali Arteaga is the top points leader in

match. The West Hills coach decided to start the game with only
9 players on the field due to a disciplinary action of some
players who did not show up for practice. The lady Glads took
full advantage of their opponents discrepancy scoring 3 quick
goals before the West Hills college team was full force. Even
after both teams were balanced the lady Glads continued to
pressure the West Hills defense with the majority of the game
played on their half of the field. The game was a confidence
booster for the lady Glads for upcoming conference matches. The
end result was Chabot 7 goals to West Hills 1 goal. Top
performers for Chabot were from Natali Arteaga and Alex Huerta
both scoring 3 goals. Veronica Alarcon added 1 goal and 2
assists for an outstanding performance. |

a tough match for the lady Glads. Coming into this game the lady
Glads have momentum from previous game and walked in with high
team morale and willing to start a winning streak. The Lady
Gladiators came out with poise, energy, and with the mentality
of not losing this game. The lady Glads scored first and
continued to do so as Foothill was out matched by Chabot. It was
a lopsided victory for Chabot beating the Owls 6 goals to zero.
Goals came from Hannah Shaffer (scoring a Hat trick 3 goals),
Natali Arteaga scoring 2 goals, and Veronica Alarcon scoring
one. Goalkeeper Allegra Wilson had 5 saves (one from a penalty

We had an overall successful week with our sports programs.
The Women's soccer team kicked of the week on Tuesday by
traveling to Hartnell College and shutting them out with a score
of 6 goals to zero. Natali Arteaga had an amazing performance
scoring 4 goals. Hannah Shaffer continues her scoring streak
with 1 goal and Veronica Alarcon contribute a goal of her own
with one assist. Goal keeper Allegra Wilson totaled 6 saves and

The men played first to claim third place in league and a possible
berth into the playoffs. The men came up short only scoring
one gaol after the Vikings were given 2 penalty kicks. Score
was 2-1. The women played right after the men and hopes in keeping
their spot in the top 16th place for playoff play. Unfortunately
the lady Gladiators lost 3-1. |

Women soccer team hosting Foothill College. The game was equally
matched as both teams battled hard to score. It was a back and
forth effort, but Chabot Scored the only goal of the game on
a 30 yard free kick. Chabot beats Foothill 1-0. |

back after Tuesday's defeat against Canada College. Chabot lost

Women soccer visited Canada College across the bay for a conference
league game. The lady Gladiators fought hard till the end, but
came up short losing to Canada 2-3. Top scorer for Chabot was
Esmeralda Lacayo scoring two goals for the day. |

Women Soccer played after the men hosting Long Beach College
for their home opener. The lady Gladiators battled but a top
ranked Long Beach team was too much for Chabot. The lady Gladiators

Women soccer started off the week on Wednesday traveling to
Evergreen Valley College (EVC) to try and make it two wins in
a row. The weather was hot and with the field turf the temperature
on the field increased the possibility of heat cramps. The lady
Gladiators fought hard for the first half scoring first with
a goalie error on a corner kick from Esmeralda Lacayo, but EVC
found a hole in the Gladiator defense to tie up the game 1-1
at the half. After a halftime talk the Chabot squad looked energized
and played more aggressive, winning every ball and scoring two
more goals to give them the win.

Chabot Women's Soccer teamed traveled to Los Medanos College
for a chance to bounce back from an overwhelming defeat. The
lady Gladiators battle till the end to win over Los Medanos
to go 1win and 1 loss for the first week of competition. |

The week started off on Tuesday August 28th with the Women's
Soccer team traveling to Hot Modesto College. This game was
going to be a challenge against a high ranked opponent in very
hot weather. The lady Gladiators fought till the end, but a
very skilled Modesto team was to dominating for Chabot beating
them in an overwhelming 10 goals to one. |

ast Monday the women soccer team played a make up game against
City College of San Francisco (CCSF) at home. Just before the
game started, the rain began to come down heavily. Because of
a well maintained field by our extraordinary field crew, the
game was safe to play in the rain. It was cold and wet, but
the lady Gladiators wanted to finish the season off with a bang.
They played great despite the slippery and cold environment.
The lady Gladiators beat CCSF 3-1 to finish the season strong
and hopes of playoff play. Wednesday was the team meeting for
teams to be ranked and considered entrance to the post season.
Chabot just fell short of the top 16 ranks in Norcal to make
the playoffs. Thank you women's soccer for an exciting and enjoyable
season. |

the women faced a rival Las Positas squad on Nov 7. This was
a must win game in which the lady Gladiators started off aggressive
and determined to beat LPC. Within the first five minutes of
play, Chabot scores the first goal of the match giving Chabot
the lead. Couple minutes later Chabot puts in another goal in
the net giving them a two nothing lead over LPC. Chabot showed
dominance and determination. The end result was Chabot 2 Las
Positas 0. |

On Wed, Women soccer hosted Skyline College in a must win
game for their hopes at a playoff berth. The women played aggressive
and together. The offense showed speedand determination. The
Midfield showed poise and confidence distributing the ball to
the forwards, and the defense showed that they are a wall that
is impenetrable. The women ended up winning 3-1 with just one
more game remaining in their hopes for playoffs. |

in climbing the standings. The women fought hard and battled
to the end, but came up short losing 2-1. |

Last Tuesday Women soccer played their respective opponents.
The women's soccer team traveled across the bay to Canada College
beating them in a blowout 5-1. The lady Gladiators are in contention
of a playoff hope in which winning is key and losing is not
an option. |

The game was very physical, in which the coach decided to withdraw
the team from the competition at halftime resulting in a forfeit,
because the game and environment was getting to dangerous for

a bang putting three goals in the net within the first 10 minutes
of the game. The lady Gladiators kept up the intensity and hustle

Women's Soccer had three games last week, winning two of three.
Chabot beat Ohlone 5-0, it has been a long time since Chabot
women soccer has beat Ohlone. Then the ladies traveled to West
Hills College, beating them 5-0. The ladies finished off the
week with a conference opener. Unfortunately, the lady Gladiators
lost a close one 2-1, but a big improvement from the last time
they faced Cabrillo College. |

Women Soccer had a winning week beating Contra Costa 5-0 and
Los Medanos 3-0. The women's soccer team are getting in a groove
putting together a string of wins. There overall record is 4-2-2. |

Women's Soccer had two matches this week faceing a tough Modesto
team and the Skyline Trojans.
Modesto comes to Chabot winning thier own tournament demolishing
their opponents. Even though the weekend tournament was not
what the lady Gladiators hoped for coming off with a win and
two losses, the lady glads prepared for Modesto coming out with
a 0-0 tie on Wednesday. That same week the lady Gladiators faced
Skyline college on Friday resulting in a 0-0 tie again. |

Women soccer first faced a tenacious Feather River squad.
The women's soccer team struggled in the beginning, but gathered
themselves together and showed poise. Aundrea Cappa put two
goals in the net showing her presence on the field and both
the Hodges Sisters (Parris and Paige) each put one goal in the
net. The final score of this game was 3-1 Chabot over Feather
River. |

The second game for the lady Gladiators against Yuba was tough.
Chabot's defense was relentless, but Yuba had a strong front
line and a creative midfield Giving Yuba 2-0 win over the lady
gladiators. |

The third and final game of the tournament was against the
host team Cabrillo. This game is a taste of what league play
is all about for the lady gladiators. The lady gladiators gave
up two goals before getting back in the game with one of their
own scored by Esmeralda Lacayo. The score was 2-1 for a while,
but Cabrillo showed dominance on the field putting two more
goals in the net. The final score was 4-1 Cabrillo over Chabot.
The Women's soccer team have potential to make magic on the
field, this weekend was a test to show what college soccer is
all about. The Chabot women's soccer team final result for the
tournament was 1 win and 2 losses. |
