The Chabot College Career & Transfer Center, located in the new Community and Student Services Center, is here to assist students with a variety of resources to meet their academic, career and employment needs. We provide assistance in researching the following information:
Transfer, employment and career information is available through printed materials, workshops, and events in our center. Students can also access computer programs and the internet for major and transfer research. For more assistance regarding a specific transfer program as it relates to individual student records, please contact a counselor in the Counseling Center. A current Chabot College Application for Admission must be on file to access Counseling appointments.
Chabot is a proud recipient of a FIPSE Special Focus Grant which helps dislocated and adult workers establish new career paths and increase success in a path already started. The Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) seeks to assist colleges in innovation and increasing institutional effectiveness through seed money provided in the form of a three-year grant. Services augmented by this grant include Peer Advisors, Career & Transfer Counseling Services by appointment, and the development of new CTE certificate programs that provide increased access to specific job markets through certification of high demand skill sets. Case management follow-up counseling services are provided to clients that apply and are accepted into the SHIFT program, an extension of the FIPSE grant.
